Position: Parrot Caregiver
Reports to: Parrot Garden Manager
Location: Kanab, Utah

Do you have a passion for parrots? How would you like to come live in the red rock canyons and make taking care of our feathered friends your job?  It's a lifestyle that comes with scenic views, interesting, colorful characters (literally!) a team of nice colleagues, and the satisfaction of knowing that you're helping to save the lives of homeless pet birds who come to Best Friends for healing and help. You don't need to have been a parrot caregiver before though that's preferred! But you do need to love them, and you need to be a hard worker, ready to jump in there and chop vegetables, clean cages and be helpful. You need to be someone who likes people, too, and can be warm with visitors and easy to work with.  There will be a lot of learning on the job, so please come with an open attitude, a willingness to see what needs to be done,  and a strong desire to bond with the birds, and learn to assess how they're doing and what they seem to need. You might even give a tour from time to time.  Does this sound like a job that could be your calling?  Working at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary is an experience like no other. It's gorgeous, it's peaceful, it's life-changing for the animals. And if you love intelligent feathered friends, then this job could be life-changing for you, too.
