Purpose: To enhance and support the Sanctuary's utilities; water, power, phone, fiber optic, and gas services. Performs varied physical labor and skilled equipment operations to improve and maintain Sanctuary utilities.


  • Performs a variety of installation and maintenance work on Sanctuary utilities such as: water lines, wells, springs, pumps and associated systems
  • Install primary and secondary electrical installations as well as telephone and fiber optic cable and propane gas installations
  • Install and trouble shoot electrical lines in buildings; replace electrical panels, outlets, switches and breakers
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment and utility associated systems
  • Locate and mark utility lines
  • Make and update spreadsheets for utility meters
  • Operates services, cleans, and cares for tools and equipment
  • Follows safe work practices and observes safety precautions
  • Have or the ability to obtain a Utah Water Operator Certification Level 1 with in one year 
  • Performs a variety of physical labor as assigned 
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

  • Basic knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, materials, and practices used in construction and maintenance
  • Must have proven basic electrical experience
  • Ability to learn to operate a variety of hand and portable power tools and equipment safely
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions; read and interpret maps, diagrams, and equipment operations manuals; maintain records; make basic arithmetical calculations, some computer skills
  • Valid driver's license 
  • Work with a positive outlook, upbeat, energetic, and taking initiative 
  • Willingness to learn on the job

Physical Requirements:

  • Working outdoors ability to perform physical work requiring coordination, agility, strength, and stamina. Work includes heavy lifting (typically up to 80 pounds); prolonged periods of standing; stooping, reaching, crawling, and climbing; manual dexterity
  • Performs labor in extreme hot and cold temperatures
